Fatherhood & Blues
This post is about a recent email i shared with my father. I am at the stage where i feel i need to leave the house i was raised in not because i know it all and i need my freedom but because with the help of great parents i am ready to start my own life. I hope you see more to this than just pictures.
Hello Daddy, I have grown to know you as the only Man who has supported me from birth despite any disagreements we have had or any wrongs have done against you.
I am far from the perfect son or even a grown man but i am learning from he best. Without your guidance i don’t know where i would be.
I want people to see me and wonder how great my father is. I hope you see in this image your 22 years of hard work materialized into one Mr. Funfere Koroye. Soon to be one of your greatest accomplishment in life.
I hope i make you proud more and more everyday, our time on earth is not guaranteed to any particular date but thus far we have fought through all my issues, major and minor. I hope you are here to see me grow and possibly raise my own with the lessons you have taught me.
This would be my first suit in years and i dedicate it in your image. The image i want to have and cherish, the image of a great leader and wonderful parent. I know you don’t really like what i did to my hair but like i said before we don’t agree on everything.
This will not be the last message i send to you on this day, here is other fruitful years to come. Keep on inspiring our people in Nigeria and your son who is far away.
On a final note, Remember the people who have been there since your birth because their bond will never be lost. In the mean time Check out my portfolio and let me know what you think, its in the link at the top of the blog also. The attention to details is the main focus, so bring a pen, take notes and leave a comment.
