About

My name is Funfere koroye. I am a masters graduate student from the Domus Academy in Milan in Product design and a bachelors undergraduate student from the savannah college of art and design in industrial design. I am currently doing a one year course in shoe making in Florence at the Accademia Riaci. I have attended a couple design schools, as listed below, and I am proficient in most design software. I have an avid love for fine art, fashion and the process of creating objects. I have been featured on over 20 websites and numerous magazines. I am also the founder of Fusion Kevlar which involves primarily focusing on editorials, product design, product photography, street style and lifestyle.

My involvement in community service is heavy. I was the President of the Africans United Association at the Savannah College of Art and Design which was created to bring together Africans out of the continents in SCAD. Apart from my focus on my school work, I was involved in community service at a local elementary school helping children in the 2nd and 3rd grade for a year in their reading, writing and communication skills. I have also volunteered as a peer facilitator for international students to discuss their first year experiences in college.

I have had the opportunity of interning at Idea Builders initiative, which is involved in green solutions in Africa. It was a great opportunity to increase my research for making Africa and get feedback from children, teachers and the working class. I was involved in a lot of group work, some of which I was in charge of. As a follow up to the magazine and website features I received, I was interviewed by the school’s communication department for an artist’s profile, which is to be displayed on http://www.scad.tv. The interview was a result of my noticeable achievements in Industrial Design.

In more recent events, I was invited to Hong Kong by NIKE and an advertising agency in New York to work on a photo shoot but, due to graduation plans I couldn’t make it. As fortune may have it a month later, Palladium Shoes from Europe came to Savannah to shoot a spring look book campaign for their new shoe collection and asked me to join them on the set. I have also gotten similar offers from Jump Shoes and Tsubo Shoes which is why I have decided to pursue shoe design and footwear branding as a focus.

My drive is undying and I will not stop until I have dominated the minds of Africans worldwide.
